Eleanor Mills
Eleanor Mills is a textile artist who graduated from the University of Brighton. Her work explores storytelling through fabric and everyday materials, using textiles as both a material and a narrative tool.

During her time at university, Eleanor experimented with different media, which ultimately led her to focus on textiles as the primary material within her practice. Through patchwork, appliqué, and stitched compositions, she creates layered and tactile works that explore the expressive possibilities of fabric.

Her practice often reflects on themes of domestic life, routine, and memory. Eleanor examines personal experiences of independence, identity, and the small moments that shape everyday life. She works with a variety of fibres and fabrics, using a sewing machine alongside hand processes.

In September 2025, Eleanor presented and completed her solo exhibition An Appliqué Afternoon at Mill Tye Gallery. The exhibition featured a series of intricate appliqué works exploring themes of home, routine, and nostalgia.

More recently, Eleanor has become involved in an emerging artist group called Pulling Prints, taking part in printmaking workshops at Gainsborough’s House. The group will present a collaborative exhibition at Mill Tye Gallery, showcasing the work developed through these sessions.

Alongside her studio practice, Eleanor is passionate about engaging with the local community in Suffolk. She is actively seeking opportunities to bring outreach to her work, share textile skills, and introduce new ways of viewing textile and appliqué art. Eleanor is currently open to commissions and is eager to collaborate with community projects and creative initiatives across the region.
